It will continue to be possible for foreign nationals who are visiting Canada and receive a valid job offer to apply for and obtain a work permit without having to leave the country. In accordance with this public policy, visitors who previously held a work permit will continue to be able to request interim work authorization to begin employment with their new employer more quickly. This COVID-era temporary public policy, which was set to expire today, has been extended by two years to February 28, 2025.
