In a statement posted by American President, Joe Biden on his Twitter page, Biden called American to insulate their homes to save heating and cooling bills.

"Insulate your home this year to save on heating and cooling bills – and don't forget: thanks to our investments, you'll get a little extra to help cover the cost of installation." Biden said.

On Wednesday, 2 November, 2022 Biden's administration said it is providing more than $13 billion to help Americans lower their energy costs this winter and improve the efficiency of their homes over the long term. 

The announcement comes as winter energy costs are expected to soar this year, with the average household paying a 10-year high of about $1,200 to warm their home. 

The aid is geared at helping low- and moderate-income families with lowering their energy costs this winter and beyond, the White House said in a statement. The push to help families lower their energy expenses also comes less than a week prior to the midterm elections, with many Americans expressing dour views on the economy due to the highest inflation in 40 years.
